What is Palisade Fencing?

Palisade fencing is a time served, reliable security solution used across multiple industrial and commercial sectors. It is widely recognised for its strength and effectiveness. It is generally made from galvanised steel heavy-duty posts, rails, and pales, and can include anti-climb features that act as a formidable barrier against intruders. All components are bolted together with shear nuts, that once tightened, there is no way of undoing them, keeping intruders out. Its design adapts easily to sloping landscapes, ensuring consistent security coverage even on uneven ground. Apart from a galvanised finish, palisade can also receive powder coat to any standard RAL colour, to match the branding of your company or property.

Perimeter Solutions work in partnership with the UK’s premier palisade fencing manufacturers, including Barkers Fencing, Alexandra Security Products, Fastline, Mount UK, and CLA. This wide supply chain of specialist fabricators enables us to offer premium products tailored to various security needs, as well as offering competitive pricing.

Types of Palisade Fencing Solutions

W Section Palisade Fencing

W Section Palisade Fencing is the most common form of Palisade on the market. ‘W’ refers to the cross section of the pale – the double fold gives great rigidity with relatively thin steel, providing superior security whilst keeping down costs. A range of different styles for the top of the palisade is available, the most common is the triple-pointed splayed spike tops which deter climbing. We can provide budget ‘standard’ W profile palisade, or upgraded palisade that meets BS 1722-12 or UKPN standards. W Section fencing can be paired with palisade gates to create controlled access points for overall security. W Section palisade delivers high security at a great price point, making it the preferred choice for areas where robust boundary protection is essential.

D Section Palisade Fencing

D Section Palisade Fencing is a slight dated, but still used version of steel palisade. It is versatile solution that offers robust protection against low to medium risks. The D-section steel pales have fewer ‘folds’ than W section palisade but make up for the lack of strengthening folds by utilising thicker steel. This fencing system is delivered unassembled and installed on-site, ensuring a secure fit with posts set at 2.75m centres. Rails are attached using fishplate cleats and bolted with M12 bolts and shear nuts, creating a durable, tamper-resistant barrier that meets various security challenges.

SR1 Palisade Security Fencing

SR1 Palisade Security Fencing brings together the classic look of traditional palisade fencing with enhanced security features. Tested to LPS 1175 A1 (SR1) standards, it prevents access by opportunistic attackers using basic hand tools for over 60 seconds. Unlike standard barriers, which can have limited security due to its fixing method, SR1 offers improved protection without compromising installation simplicity. It is frequently employed at industrial and school properties, where the contents are at a raised risk of vandalism or theft.

SR2 Palisade Fencing

SR2 Palisade Fencing comes with unparalleled security design, traditional aesthetics and modern safety features. Perfect for high-risk areas, SR2 fencing adapts seamlessly to various ground conditions, handling slopes up to 33 degrees without requiring any modifications. Tested rigorously, it withstands attacks from tools like bolt cutters, claw hammers, and drills for over three minutes. Whether protecting commercial assets or industrial sites, SR2 Palisade Fencing offers peace of mind with its durable and dependable barrier.

SR3 Palisade Security Fence

For those requiring the highest level of protection, the SR3 Palisade Security Fence is a top contender. This fencing defends the site against the most persistent and skilled attacks, ensuring the safety of critical infrastructure. It’s an ideal choice for highly regulated environments such as airports, ports, data centres, and utilities. These fences can withstand over five minutes of aggressive attacks even with advanced tools like drills, gas torches, and crowbars. Easy to install and exceptionally robust, SR3 is the trusted choice for safeguarding sensitive areas and valuable assets.
