For securing the pitch and separating spectators, low level spectator rail is recommended. This can either be weldmesh fencing with additional handrails, or PVCU fencing with weldmesh infills. For securing football pitches against intrusion and vandalism, taller security weldmesh fencing around a sports ground perimeter is recommended, such as our V-mesh or Twin-wire options. If creating an enclosed multi use games arena MUGA then a rebound twin wire weldmesh is to be used, with sound deadening rubber inserts between the steel panels and steel posts.

Yes, sports fencing can often be customised with different colour coatings or finishes to match specific team branding or school colours.
3. What materials are commonly used for durable and weather-resistant sports fencing?
The most common material used is weldmesh fencing. This is formed with thick wired welded together to create a mesh (hence the name weldmesh). This is then galvanised to British Standard 10244-2:2001, and finished with a coloured powder coat finish to British Standard 13438:2005. The galvanising and powdercoating finish is designed to give a 25 year service life in an outdoor environment. There are different pattens of weldmesh available to suit different requirements: from cost effective medium security, to super strong double wire rebound mesh designed to take multiple adult players running into it without distorting.

There are guidelines in place that stipulate what type of fencing should be used for each individual sport and for securing facilities. Guidelines from Sports England and Secure by Design should be followed to ensure the best recommended products are used. Traditional chainlink, or more mordern twin-wire weldmesh fencing are most frequently used for tennis court fencing for this reason.
