At Perimeter Solutions we have always been committed to ensuring the health and safety of our staff on all of our projects. Our directors’ experience working with top UK contractors means that, as a company, we are well-versed in the appropriate health and safety regulations. We provide extensive training and regularly audit our business with external health and safety professionals to make sure that we are working to the latest health and safety standards. This is kept regularly updated and we are always on the lookout for changes in legislation to ensure that we comply and continue to operate safely. We are proactive and quick to act in looking for new ways to ensure that our methods of work are safe. Our worksites are properly secured to protect the public, and our final installations are completed to the highest standards of safety.
Our health and safety certifications
We keep all of our health and safety qualifications up to date and are happy to provide proof upon request. We have an ongoing commitment to safety in our workplace and have invested heavily in ensuring that all of our staff are properly trained and qualified.
An advanced qualification that indicates we have been scrutinised by an external body. Constructionline Gold indicates that we meet the Common Assessment Standard in advanced checks on environmental management, quality management, anti-corruption, equal opportunity, and corporate and social responsibility. It is a requirement of many construction companies and councils to ensure that they are employing a professional and responsible fencing contractor.
Acclaim and SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement)
We are a registered member of Safety Schemes in Procurement and accredited by Acclaim. They assess and verify our company’s health and safety documentation and work activities, reassuring our clients that they are working with a safe and professional business.
CHAS Advanced is an accreditation package that ensures compliance with SSIP and PAS 91 requirements. By holding this accreditation we’ve proven that we’ve been assessed and found compliant in health and safety, environmental impact and sustainability, quality management, financial and business standing, equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), as well as having our insurance and employee identities checked.
Association of Fencing Industries member
The AFI is an independent organisation that requires all of its members adhere to a strict code of practice. All contractors with AFI membership are required to comply with health and safety legislation, behave ethically as a business, maintain good financial practices, and offer professional and courteous customer service. Our membership demonstrates our commitment to our clients and to the safety of our projects.
An independent consultancy that’s been operating for over twenty-five years, CQMS provides credibility and confidence in our commitment to health and safety. They verify that we are fulfilling our requirements for safety on site and ensure that all of our relevant accreditations are up to date to be made available upon request by our clients.
As we undertake many jobs in schools, colleges, and SEND institutions all of our staff have been DBS checked to confirm that they are all suitable to work on school grounds. While we know we only hire reputable installers, we know that is important to do our due diligence and seek proof to reassure our clients that our staff have been checked.
First aid training
All of our staff receive first aid training in order to respond to any issues that arise on site or in the office. Our sales director Roderick went on a 14-day NEBOSH Safety at Work course to increase our knowledge of managing health and safety processes, evaluating risk, and assign controls measures and actions to improve health and safety. This has been a great benefit to Perimeter Solutions as it gives us an in-house health and safety expert.
Every year we have a health and safety review conducted by an external consultant, THSP. They inspect the entire company from top to bottom to ensure that our processes are in place, our equipment and tools are appropriate, and that we are complying with legislation and guidelines. This keeps us up to date on new developments and makes us aware of where we can adjust if need be.
Safety on site
We are committed to continually training our staff to ensure that all of our projects are completed safely. All our installers are received training through our NVQ or apprenticeship schemes to ensure that they adhere not only to our standards of quality, but also safety. They are also trained in the proper use of all their tools and equipment and in safe practices for installing all of our fencing and gates. As a company we are diligent in ensuring that our installers have the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and are instructed in its use. We conduct thorough risk assessments and have processes for investigating the causes of any accidents to assess how safety can be improved. This commitment to safety and our staff has made us a highly desirable company to work for and a reliable contractor to work with.
