Perimeter Solutions worked closely with both our client and the architect to come up with a solution to a challenging install in Colchester. A unit designed to house young adults with mental health issues required a ball court to be constructed in an internal courtyard.
The ball court required an anti-climb and anti-ligature construction, as well as the ability to withstand ball impact. Fixing into existing structural steel, with additional new posts, it was agreed to proceed with a 358 weldmesh system. The black powdercoated weldmesh and bespoke steel kickplates, matched with galvanised supporting steelwork resulted in a fantastic looking and robust ballcourt. To finish this court, Perimeter Solutions also supplied and installed sports netting to one elevation.
Other works included a bespoke cedar clad compound, timber bollards, chainlink and post and rail. In order to get materials into the courtyard to allow installation, PSL hired in a 55T crane with a fully qualified support crew.
