Maritime Academy, Rochester

The brand new Maritime Academy in Rochester is a new build 1100 place school, making excellence a habit for young students in North Kent.

Perimeter Solutions competitively tendered for these works with multiple contractors, before Bowmer & Kirkland finally secured the works. From there, Perimeter and B&K went through months of value engineering, in fact the scheme was wholly or partly re-quoted 26 times to get to a position where all parties were happy with both the specification and value.

Perimeter Solutions were asked for guidance on specification, and utilising our knowledge of Secure by Design and DfE guidelines, we were able to ensure that the client was meeting all their requirements before a spade had pierced the soil.

We were ‘first in, last out’ on this project, attending to set up the initial site hoarding, then seeing out the final fence panels being installed on the last days before handover to the school.

Works included over 1300m of anti-climb 358 security mesh, a 3m high MUGA, plenty of post and rail and several runs of 5m high sports netting.
